Antonio Stradivari (violin) Lafont – 1699

Around the end of the 17th century, Stradivari abandoned his ‘Long Pattern’ and reverted to what the Hill Brothers dubbed his ‘Amatisé Forms.’ The Cremonese master then parted ways with the flat model in order to re-explore more rounded curves, all the while shortening the overall size of his instruments.
