Antonio Stradivari (violin) Prové – 1718 ca.

This violin still bears an original label reading ‘Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis/Faciebat Anno 1715’, but although Fridolin Hamma certified the instrument as having a production date in line with the label, Charles Beare dated it to around 1718–20. The instrument is named after one of its former owners, the Muscovite merchant Ivan Karlovitsch Prové.
