This cello was crafted by Stradivari in the 1690s, and it still bears an original label that reads ‘Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1693’, but the last digits are not clear and the Parisian violin maker and expert, Etienne Vatelot, was of the opinion that the date ought to be interpreted as 1690.
