Antonio Stradivari (violin) da Vinci, Juif Errant – 1714 ca.

This instrument from Stradivari’s ‘Golden Period’ still bears an original label dated 1714. Nevertheless, its exact production date has yet to be agreed upon. Experts like Emil Herrmann, Ernest N. Doring, Herbert K. Goodkind, and Sotheby’s list it among the instruments manufactured in 1712, while William Henley recorded it with two different dates in the same book: ‘1712. The Da Vinci’ and ‘1714. The De Vinci’.
